The tree is up, the garland is hung, and our little studio in Mission Viejo is ready for the season. We kept the decorations soft this year, with greens, plaid and a few twinkle lights, so the room still feels calm and full of window light. The tree wears a big white ribbon and a gold star, a little wooden rocking horse waits beside it, and there’s a green arch draped in tiny lights, garland along the shelves and a cozy chair with a plaid throw. My favorite part is how the lights glow against all that natural light. Other photographers have already rented the studio for their own Christmas sessions, and more dates are booked through the season.
Our Christmas minis are short and simple on purpose. Each session is 30 minutes for up to 6 people, and you’ll take home 15 edited digital images plus 2 polaroids. Families, couples, mamas-to-be and little ones are all welcome. Sessions are $350, and our last date is Sunday, November 15. If you’d like a holiday card photo, that still leaves time to order cards before December.
Christmas pictures don’t have to be stiff or perfect. Some of our favorite frames from last season were the in-between ones: a big sister’s kiss on the cheek, a toddler holding a present that’s almost too big, a quiet smile in the glow of the lights.
